Just Charts
There has been a lot of angst online recently about declining comic sales, especially in the direct market. However, in my mind, it is not clear whether this represents a true downward trend or merely a reversion to pre-COVID moderate growth. Iโd love to hear from you if you have an insight into this.

Contest Question:
Have you ever thrown away a comic?
So, the great storage reorg continues at our house, and this week, I ran across a handful of comics that were severely damaged, lost their covers, etc. (I suspect they were ones that I had in my classroom.) This got me wondering when/if it was appropriate to throw out a comic. Have you ever thrown away a comic?
Leave your answer in the comments below for an extra entry in the 100th post contest.
Writer Accountability
Writing? Oof! What is that? It wasnโt a good week on the word count front. Looking at my schedule, I suspect getting much actual writing done in December is going to be a challenge.
I got word that my artist is almost finished with his current project and should be able to start Lump Dog character designs very soon!
Personal
Imagine a large dining room table covered in raw comics. Sorting through this disorganized stash was my number one accomplishment this week. I bagged and boarded a lot of Alpha Flight this week! ๐จ๐ฆ
I made progress reorganizing the โinventoryโ in our dry storage/bedroom. Man, you can collect a ton of
cruditems living in the same house for over thirty years!I made it up the stairs without โtwo-steppingโ last night. Woot! My LCL knee injury is finally healing. ๐
What I am reading
Iโm still reading the Spawn (Compendium) (on GlobalComix) to make sure I get the lore right. Iโm on page 680 of the 1139 pages. So far, I havenโt discovered anything in the lore that would make my pitch inconsistent.

Just for Fun ๐
This made me chuckle.
I think if a comic doesnโt have much value and is too beat up to read, yeah, it might be okay to throw it out without shame. But then again, it reminds me of a trip to the beach as a kid when I was in some beachside mom & pop shop. I found the most beat up Detective Comics Batman with torn pages. I thought I had found pure gold and loved reading it.
