The TfC Ramble is a weekly buffet of content from the intersection of comics and technology.
Scrivener
Scrivener for Mac got an update this week to version 3.3.1. Most users wonât find any significant changes, but I just want to shout out the development team for addressing so many edge case issues. You can read the release notes here.
One of my favourite things about Scrivener is that it is not a subscription product, but how Literature & Latte makes any money while still managing to fix these sorts of niche things on a regular basis should be a model for the industry.
âArt is the expression of the profoundest thoughts in the simplest way.â ~ Albert Einstein
AI & Machine Learning
Nothing specifically comic-related this week, but this is well worth watching.
A âPause the Experimentâ letter went out this week that expressed concerns about the pace of the AI race, suggesting that researchers pause at the stage we are at. The online response has been interesting⌠everything from âOf courseâ to âThey just want time to catch up with the competition.â
- for bringing this article to my attention).

Notable Drops
Ashfall #6 is coming. An ownership âsnapshotâ was taken on March 30th, and any address holding all five previous issues will get #6 delivered to it for free. I mention this process in my book, suggesting that one possible use case for this sort of drop might be limiting âtrade waiting.â

Business
I loved this post on how to do a convention post by Mark Abnett. Stash PREPARING FOR YOUR BEST CON away and review it before you table.
And while Iâm talking about conventions, here is another wise post.
And, of course, this news happened this week. My hot take is that this restructuring is mostly a non-event for most Ramble readers.
Writer Accountability
Well, I got my taxes done. The glass-half-full assessment is I now have all the time in the world to edit my script. And maybe write another. And work on my novel. And other things that donât involve spending more money. đ
Just for Fun
VeVeâs digital statue drop this Saturday. If you know, you know. Yes, it is that day.
