Press Release: "Comic NFTs - An Ethical Approach" audiobook release
Author Greg Tjosvold is convinced digital collectibles can be an important revenue stream for independent comic creators.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Audiobook Comic NFTs - An Ethical Approach encourages creating ethical NFTs to bolster the comic industry.
Vancouver, BC October 21, 2024 – Comic NFTS - An Ethical Approach, a new book from “technonaut” turned comic writer Greg Tjosvold, posits that NFTs can and should be a part of a healthy comic industry. The book is for comic creators who are concerned or curious about NFTS, especially those interested in moving past the myth and rhetoric found on social media to real, fact-based information about this multi-billion-dollar industry. The book is now available as on Audible, Spotify, and other audiobook platforms.
This comprehensive guide includes:
Descriptions of multiple types of comic NFTs. Many creators are surprised to learn that profile picture NFTs, the type of NFT most often in the news, are only one of over a dozen categories of NFTs implemented by comic creators.
A comprehensive discussion of the unique value proposition of comic NFTs.
A comprehensive glossary of NFT terms for non-technical creators. Each term is described metaphorically and includes curated links to more information.
A multipage checklist that will help creators evaluate their understanding of the subjects covered in the book.
Two clarifying inserts from talented comic industry lawyer Gamal Hennessy.
This book also tackles the most common concerns about NFTs head-on. It describes ways to move forward with an NFT strategy in a way that honors creators and fans and doesn’t destroy the planet.
Comic NFTs is not a how-to book about creating digital collectables on a specific blockchain, but rather a comprehensive overview of the technology that should be read before a creator or publisher starts creating NFTs from their comics. This book will help creators move forward in an ethical and thoughtful manner.
The book is written by Greg Tjosvold (pronounced: Chezvold). Greg has a B.Sc. double major in Computer Science and Biology. He recently retired from a highly successful teaching career where he was the recipient of the 2016 Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence (Certificate of Achievement). The application of computer technology has been the common thread through his long and varied work life - from selling Apple computers pre-World-Wide-Web to teaching his Grade 6/7 gifted students how to use apps like Scrivener during NaNoWriMo.
“I took early retirement mid-2018 to tackle a long list of creative to-dos,” said Tjosvold. “Ironically, this book was not on that original list. However, I felt it was important that someone with subject experience create a fact-based NFT roadmap for independent creators. So many of my comic friends talk about how hard it is to make a living from comics yet so many of these same creators were rejecting NFTs as a potential added revenue stream based on peer-pressure and outdated information. This is my attempt at tackling the myth and rhetoric around NFTs so my talented comic industry friends can eat.”
The eBook was first published in December of 2022, but the content has held up surprisingly well.
Comic NFTs - An Ethical Approach is currently via several free and paid platforms. Visit Tech For Comics (https://www/techforcomics.com) for details on how to obtain a copy.
