Update: 2023.01.09 - TL;DR: Heywallet is a very promising beta product that allows you to send micropayments via Twitter. In my opinion, it is not yet ready-for-prime time.
I was able to use the HeyWallet service to send funds to myself, but there are still too many hoops for new users to jump through. However, the concept - of sending funds via Twitter - is a good one that I hope they will continue to refine so it becomes transparent for non-crypto natives. Of particular note is the necessity of a new account to have a little Solana (a type of cryptocurrency) in it so the sent funds can be received. This catch-22 is a pretty significant hoop to jump through. Subsidized integration of the service into the Crypto.com app, the Phantom Wallet, or even the Twitter app itself would solve this.
The other significant issue is the public tweets generated by the program. It should be possible to run the entire transfer via dm so that the financial transaction isn't public. As it is, this experim…
