A Scrivener Project for Your Kickstarter Page
Collect your thoughts and edit offline, then copy and paste your work into Kickstarter
The attached project includes a collection of the current fields used in the online Kickstarter setup process. I find it helpful to write offline as it allows for easier grammar checking with ProWritingAid and similar. I also find it helpful to be able to easily jump between sections and use a split screen to view more than one document at a time while working on a Kickstarter page.
I’ve included the Kickstarter instructions and examples in the notes section of each document. Remember to open the inspector and click on the first icon on the left to see these notes if they are not readily visible. The instructions are likely to change over time, so be careful to read the actual instructions on Kickstarter when you go to paste the text into the corresponding fields.
The examples included are from my Kickstarter for issue #1 of The Lump Sum Saga. You can see the project here. To read the finished comic for free or to purchase print copies, visit http://www.thelumpsumsaga.com. Please note that quantities of variant cover editions are limited.
The information is provided as-is. For in-depth information about optimizing your Kickstarter page and campaign, I can’t recommend the self-directed course at ComixLaunch Pro enough. Visit https://pro.comixlaunch.com/comixlaunch-pro-waitlist . Comics Experience also runs an excellent class called "Kickstarting Your Comic or Graphic Novel” if you’d like to learn online with an instructor. See https://www.comicsexperience.com/product/kickstarting-your-comic-or-graphic-novel/ .
While I’m talking Kickstarter, if you are planning a crowdfunding campaign and aren’t already listening to the ComixLaunch podcast, do yourself a favour and connect.
I can’t honestly say I’ve played with the other sites yet. But that is definitely something to consider in the future. Thanks for the kind words and suggestion.
This is a great resource, have you considered similar for the other crowdfunding platforms? Or perhaps a compare and contrast?
